Walking up to it, the sound and magnitude inspire pure awe.
The roar of water eroding tough stone is intriguing to virgin ears.
Cold water rushes over your feet with a power much larger than my own.
The sharp pain and icy sensation slowly wash away as you adjust to the temperature.
Normally crystal clear, the water rushes by with a brown-gray tint from the clouds.
Whispers drowned out by the constant drone of the river’s song.
A cracking, creaky tree leans lazily over half of the riverbed.
It could have been there for weeks, or settled in this home decades ago.
And while the river is strong and powerful,
The path it has cut was chosen very carefully.
The energy in the water, while intimidating, is blissful and gorgeous.
